From the «Winter in Russia» series

When I paint the Russian winter I first and foremost which to convey the feeling of its frosty atmosphere, the crunch of snow underfoot. The feeling of immersion in the winter landscape is so very important to me. I have always paintd Russian winters. However living far from my native country, I realise how much my nostalgia for those winters stirs deep feelings me. Wooden houses covered with snow, mysterious forest submerged in snow… It's like delving into the classic novels of Russian literature of the 19-th century.
