"I wanted to draw a samovar for a long time. Probably from the moment when i moved to France. I wanted to portray a Russian samovar, because it is an integral part of Russian culture. I remembered my childhood at the dacha, the way I loved to drink tea from the samovar, when the whole family was around ... I remember the smell of firewood, tea with herbs and homemade jam from the fruits from our garden. The tea was the most delicious, accompanied by conversations, it was imperceptible to drink five cups. But I wanted something special, for some reason I recalled the books of Chekhov and Turgenev ... For two years the image ripened in my head, and then suddenly I saw the samovar like this - beautiful, with the reflection of Russian churches. "
